There are no known active cases of COVID-19 in the Darling Downs Health area following the recovery of the 42nd confirmed patient in the region at the weekend.

Queensland Health reported zero active cases in the Darling Downs on Saturday.

One new case was reported statewide on both Saturday and Sunday, taking the Queensland total of confirmed cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began to 1035.

There are 53 active cases: nine patients are in hospital, including four in intensive care. 

The remainder of the active cases are recovering at home.

A total of 976 Queenslanders (94 per cent of total cases) have now recovered from the viral disease; 115,598 tests have been undertaken in Queensland, with 1990 done during the past 24 hours.

Investigations have determined that 798 of the 1035 cases acquired the disease overseas; 174 acquired it in Queensland after close contact with a confirmed case; and 18 acquired it interstate.

Forty-three cases have no known contact and two are still under investigation.

Nationally, there has been 6801 confirmed cases, including 95 deaths; 64 per cent of infections were acquired overseas while 36 per cent were acquired locally (including 10 per cent from an unknown source.) More than 5700 patients have recovered.
