Nineteen people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Darling Downs Health region, the latest figures released by Queensland Health reveal.

Of the 41 confirmed cases that have occurred in the region – which includes the South Burnett but also stretches south to Stanthorpe, north to Taroom and west to the Balonne area – 19 patients have recovered and 20 cases are still active.

Two Toowoomba men have died.

The 41 cases have been identified in Toowoomba (32), Oakey (4), Kingaroy (2), Miles (1), Warwick (1) and Chinchilla (1).

This number has not changed since Wednesday.

The Queensland total of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose by 10 overnight to to 953: 576 active cases, 372 recovered patients and five deaths.

The largest number of confirmed cases is still in the Metro North health region with 288 (211 active, 75 recovered and two deaths).

Nationally, as at 6:00am on Thursday, there had been 6052 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Australia, up 96 since 6:00am Wednesday.

Fifty-one people have died.
