The driver of an empty semi-trailer suffered serious burns in a truck fire on the Burnett Highway at Boonara on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to the incident, near Booinbah Road, about 5:00pm.

The driver suffered serious burns to his feet and smoke inhalation.

A QAS spokesperson said he was transported to Murgon Hospital in a stable condition.

The fire blocked traffic on the highway for some time.  At 6:45pm, a police spokesperson said one lane was partially open.
