Super Sedans superstar Mathew Pascoe added another Queensland title to his trophy shelf on Saturday night after a dominating performance at the Kingaroy Speedway.

Pascoe won all his heats before claiming a three-second win in the final.

It was the fourth Queensland title win in a row for the Aussie champion, and his sixth overall.

Former Queensland champions Darren Kane and Michael Nicola took out second and third spots in a keenly contested 40-lap final.

Kingaroy’s Travis Barron was also among the Super Sedans action, finishing in 10th spot after securing a third in an earlier heat.

The biggest bingle of the night came in the final of the Wingless Sprints when Michael Lampard and Lachie Robertson came together in spectacular fashion on Lap 8.

Lamperd’s Q60 car grew wings before pivoting on its rollbar and landing back on its wheels to finish the race in 10th position.

Robertson was not so lucky, retiring with a broken race car.

The Kingaroy track was kept well-watered throughout the evening with regular appearances of the water truck between heats.

This not only helped to keep the dust down but ensured there was track-wide racing during the Super Sedans final.

Local driver Nathan Barbeler took out the 20-lap final of Round 3 of the Edge Automotive Street Stock series.

The series is being raced at Kingaroy across five rounds with cash prizes to be distributed in May.

Also raced on the night were Lightning Sprints, Modlites and Production Sedans.

A highlight of the Christmas Cup meeting for younger speedway fans was the appearance of Santa around the track, handing out lollies.

The next speedway meeting in Kingaroy will be the massive Australia Day long weekend Kings Royal event for Modified Sedans.

Racing will run across three nights – January 24-26 – and will also feature Street Stocks, Production Sedans, Modlites and Juniors.
