The wind whipped the metal roof from the pony stables and dumped it nearby

December 8, 2019

A willy willy ripped the metal roofs off horse stables at the Blackbutt Showgrounds on Friday.

Local resident Melanie Doheny said luckily no one was hurt in the incident but it startled campers at the showgrounds.

Metal sheets and their supporting wooden poles were left strewn around the northern edge of the main oval.

The horse stables are used by the pony club and trail riders.

Melanie said horse accomodation was only available now at the top yards.
