Toowoomba Regional Council’s water team will be visiting 11 communities across the region during December and January to explain the current water restrictions.

The team will be at Yarraman Community Hall from 4:30pm to 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 21.

Other sessions will be held at Cambooya, Clifton, Cecil Plains, Crows Nest, Goombungee, Hodgson Vale,  Millmerran, Oakey,  Pittsworth and Toowoomba.

Local residents with questions about the water restrictions, have been asked to call 13-18-72 to book an appointment.

“I think everyone appreciates how difficult conditions are at the moment and that is why we have implemented changes to the water restriction levels,” Cr Nancy Sommerfield said.

“Our dams are still about a third full but it’s important we continue to be responsible with our water usage which is why we have revised our target levels.

“The systems used in this region are quite complex as some communities are connected to the Toowoomba Bulk Supply while others rely on bores or weirs so it’s important each community understands what level of restrictions they are on.

“These sessions will allow residents to gain a better understanding of what restriction level they are on and what the restrictions mean to them on an individual basis.”
