Primary school students in the South Burnett have been invited to take part in a “Name The Crane” and colouring-in competition to mark the recent installation of a tower crane at the Kingaroy Hospital redevelopment site.

A Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service spokesperson said the installation of the 40m tower crane was a major milestone in the Kingaroy Hospital redevelopment project.

The crane will be used to lift items such as formwork, steel, concrete blocks, steel framing, roof sheeting, air-conditioning units and solar panels during construction.

Project Director Phil Gregory said the project was on track to be finished by late 2021.

The winner of the “Name the Crane” competition will have their crane name displayed on the crane and will receive an iPad donated by Kingaroy Hospital redevelopment contractors Broad Construction.

The winners of the colouring-in competition will have their artwork displayed on the new hospital website and will receive a gift voucher donated by Kingaroy Office Central.

Entry forms and details for the name the crane and colouring-in competition are available on the Kingaroy Hospital redevelopment website

The competition is now open and will close on December 6.

The winner will be announced shortly afterwards.
