It was the turn of St Mary’s Catholic College Year 12 students to walk the red carpet on Tuesday night, much to the delight of friends, family and paparazzi who were busily snapping photos.

The annual Year 12 Valedictory Dinner for the graduating class was held again at Kingaroy Town Hall.

A crowd of admirers applauded as the classmates – some barely recognisable – swapped their school uniforms for ball gowns and suits.

The students and their partners arrived in transport options ranging from classic Fords and Holdens to a vintage Chev ute and a Kenworth prime mover.

St Mary’s teacher Jessica Cunningham and Damien Martoo, from the St Mary’s P&F Association, kept up a live commentary in between arrivals.

Their patter – and nervous waves from the students – was streamed live on The Martoo Review.

It will be the turn of Kingaroy State High School students on the red carpet on Thursday evening.
