It’s always a difficult choice at Murgon High School’s big formal night … what turns the most heads? The stunning frocks, the fancy cars or the handsome guys and gals?

Murgon again decided to “go early” with their celebrations, kicking off the South Burnett’s 2019 formal season several weeks ahead of all the other high schools in the region.

The warm night and perfect weather on Thursday – as well as the chance to see the Year 12 students in their fancy clobber – attracted a good crowd to Gore Street to watch the parade roll up.

The vehicles included the usual smattering of classic and modern Falcons and Mustangs, Monaros and Chevys plus a 1957 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud (the People’s Choice winner at the recent Wondai Show), gleaming 4WDs and even a Mack prime mover.

Each of the students and their partners or chaperones paused for multiple photographs as they stepped on to the red carpet outside Murgon Town Hall.
