South Burnett residents have been invited to help shape the future of maternity care at the new Kingaroy Hospital.

The Kingaroy Hospital Redevelopment team has organised a Community Engagement Maternity Forum for next Wednesday (September 25) from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

Spokesperson Denelle Morrison said the forum was open to all interested residents.

“The forum is an opportunity for community residents to share their thoughts and hopes for maternity services at the new hospital,” Ms Morrison said.

“It will also be an opportunity for us to share the recent findings from the State-wide maternity taskforce and how this will impact the services we can provide in the South Burnett.”

An average 306 babies are born at Kingaroy Hospital every year.

The community forum will be held at the Kingaroy Hospital’s QRME training rooms.

RSVP to denelle.morrison@health.qld.gov.au by Monday, September 23.
