It’s not every day that you turn 80, but almost every Saturday you will find Angela Clarke out on the South Burnett Rail Trail with the Wondai parkrun group.

On Saturday, Angela celebrated a milestone birthday with her 56th parkrun.

“A number of her running friends didn’t like to let the occasion go by without a little fanfare,” enthusiastic parkrunner Cr Ros Heit said.

“Ange and her grandsons Daniel and Jimmy share a love of running and are usually at Wondai each week.

“She intends to keep running and keeps the younger ones on their toes with her tenacity and determination.”

The Wondai parkrun group meets at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am every Saturday for a 5km timed run along the South Burnett Rail Trail.

The parkrun group is free to join but participants have to register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event.

“Wondai parkrun continues to bring runners and walkers from far afield as many parkrun tourists stay at the local free camp just to attend parkrun,” Cr Heit said.
