A young boy was taken to Kingaroy Hospital on Sunday morning after being bitten by a dog.

A QAS spokesperson said the incident happened at a private residence in Nanango.

Paramedics were called at 8:43am.

The boy suffered head injuries in the incident but was transported in a stable condition.

South Burnett Regional Council officers attended the property on Sunday and removed the animal.

An injured man has been airlifted to hospital with leg injuries following a dirt bike crash in Kingaroy on Saturday afternoon.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to a recreation park about 12:30pm.

The injured man, aged in his 20s, was being treated by QAS paramedics when the aeromedical team arrived.

The rider was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a stable condition.
