The large bushfire burning in the Linville area was being monitored by fire crews on Wednesday afternoon.

At 2:40pm, the previous bushfire warning was downgraded.

A QFES spokesperson said the fire was contained and crews would continue to monitor the area.

At 1:10pm, QFES said the warning level for this incident was still ADVICE, ie. residents need to keep up-to-date and decide what actions they will take if the situation changes.

The fire is burning west of George Street within containment lines between Rohlmanns Road, the Rail Trail, Sandy Creek Road and Linville Road.

Firefighters will be monitoring the area throughout the day.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.

Properties are not under direct threat at this time.
