South Burnett Saints tested second-placed Coolaroo in their Round 17 Darling Downs AFL game played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.

The home team shot out of the gates, kicking four goals to nil in the first quarter to lead 4.5-29 to 0.3-3 at the first change.

But the Roos, who have lost just three matches this season, changed gears in the second stanza to lead 8.4-52 to 4.6-30 at half-time.

When the final siren sounded, Coolaroo were ahead 16.11-107 to 8.9-57.

South Burnett goals were kicked by Jarryd Hill (3), Benjamin Smith (2), Keegan Wright, Shaun Pukallus and William Packer.

The Saints’ last game for the season will be played on Saturday at Rockville Oval in Toowoomba against the Toowoomba Tigers.
