Tickets went on sale online on Friday for some of the main events planned for this year’s Kingaroy BaconFest.
The BaconFest Long Table Breakfast, from 7:00am to 9:00am on Sunday, August 25, will feature celebrity chef Adrian Richardson, owner of La Luna Bistro in Melbourne and co-host of Good Chef Bad Chef on Network Ten.
Adrian will be working alongside South Burnett “local produce champion” Roberta Schablon, from The Saucy Fork at Cloyna, to create a bacon-filled menu.
Tickets for the Long Table Breakfast are $75 and can be booked here
Adrian will also be doing cooking demonstrations during BaconFest.
Tickets have also gone on sale for the SunPork Wine and Swine Cocktail Party which will be held in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt from 6:00pm to 10:00pm on Friday, August 23.
The party will feature “grazing tables” of pork, ham and bacon paired with South Burnett produce topped off with bacon ice-cream and a special dessert bar.
Entertainment will be provided by hillbilly band The Pigs who are currently touring Queensland promoting their new Hillbilly Synthesiser CD.
Tickets for the Wine and Swine Cocktail Party are $110, which includes a beer or wine on arrival. They can be booked here
The second annual BaconFest will run from August 23-25.
Other items planned include a cycling and running event (Rasher’s Rush), bacon-eating competitions, the Miss BaconFest pin-up pageant, Little Piggies In The Park, a two-day bacon-themed food market and the SunPork Smoke Off which is a round of the Australasian BBQ Alliance national competition.
