South Burnett Saints got off to a good start in their game in the rain against Toowoomba at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday afternoon.

The home team was ahead by a goal at the first change and just two points behind at half-time in a closely matched game.

But Toowoomba came out strongly after the break and powered home in the final quarter to win 14.8-92 to 7.11-53.

Saints’ goals were kicked by Jordan Brooker (2), Brent Snow (2), Brenton Noe, James Packer and Adam Bowater.

The men’s next match is an away game against Goondiwindi at Riddles Oval in Goondiwindi.

The Saints’ women had no luck in their Kingaroy game aginst Toowoomba … going down 25.21-171 to 1.1-7.

Kiara Wright kicked the South Burnett goal.

The women’s next game is on Saturday, June 15 in Toowoomba against University.

Saints were leading Toowoomba at the end of the first quarter
