The South Burnett Saints AFL club is currently on the lookout to add new players to both their Senior teams.

The club has a free Come and Try Day scheduled for Thursday night (June 6) from 6:00-7:00pm at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.

The call out is for girls and boys, men and women, aged 15 and above.

All skill levels have been invited.

The Saints’ men had no joy when they travelled to Rockville Oval in Toowoomba last Saturday to face second-placed Coolaroo in the Darling Downs AFL competition.

Saints started off with two goals in the first quarter but were overpowered for the rest of the game.

The final score was 21.19-145 to 4.4-28.

South Burnett goals were kicked by Matthew Hayes, Brad Pressnell, Brenton Noe and Jarryd Hill.

The Saints Women fared a little bit better during their loss at home.

The final score in their match against the South Toowoomba Bombers at Lyle Vidler Oval was 18.12-120 to 4.2-26.

Both Saints teams will be back at home this Saturday in Kingaroy, taking on Toowoomba.

Saints’ women will kick off at 12:30pm followed by the men’s game at 2:30pm.
