A teenage boy and 20-year-old man, both from Cherbourg, have been charged after an alleged stolen vehicle was driven at high speed across Brisbane on Friday night.
Police allege that about 9:10pm a red Toyota Aurion sedan, which had been reported stolen from an address in Twin Waters on May 29, was spotted by police at an Oxley Road service station in Graceville on Brisbane’s southside.
Two police vehicles attempted to intercept the stolen vehicle before the driver accelerated and struck a petrol bowser, driving off at high speed.
The PolAir helicopter tracked the vehicle before a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed at Bald Hills.
The occupants allegedly fled on foot at Murrumba Downs where they were taken into custody shortly afterwards without incident.
A 20-year-old man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, burglary and receiving tainted property.
A 14-year-old boy was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary and receiving tainted property.
