The organisers of Kingaroy BaconFest have announced they have secured a three-year, $105,000 sponsorship deal with SunPork Fresh Foods.

The inaugural BaconFest was held in August last year; this year’s event will run from August 23-25.

SunPork Fresh Foods Executive General Manager Rhys Collins said the company was impressed by the inaugural festival and could not wait to see it grow during the next three years.

“Any event involving bacon is always going to be a crowd pleaser but the team of volunteers behind Kingaroy BaconFest worked extraordinarily hard to ensure its success,” Mr Collins said.

The sponsorship deal is worth more than $105,000 cash plus product and in-kind support.

Kingaroy BaconFest’s Kathryn Stevens said the festival committee was enormously grateful for the backing of SunPork Fresh Foods.

“SunPork has been supportive of BaconFest since we first briefed them on the concept in 2017,” Ms Stevens said.

“Their ongoing support will allow us to operate with a confidence that would not otherwise be possible and we’re incredibly grateful for the faith they’ve demonstrated in our event.”
