A 34-year-old Gordonbrook man is facing a string of charges following a police raid at Gordonbrook on April 30.

The search was part of an ongoing drug enforcement operation, Operation Romeo Monument.

Police allegedly located a rifle, ammunition and cannabis during the search.

The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 24 charged with drug production, drug possession, possession of drug utensils, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of explosives (ammunition).

The search was as a result of a joint operation between the Burnett Tactical Action Team and Murgon detectives assisted by local police.

Detective Inspector Mat Kelly said these types of operations were random in nature.

“These operations, supported by local intelligence and valuable information from across the community, will continue to be executed across the South West District,” Det Insp Kelly said.

“By disrupting criminal behaviour in this way, we aim to deter future offending.”
