Brownlow Medallist and triple premiership player Jason Akermanis will be the special guest at the South Burnett Saints’ annual Heritage Day on May 25.
Akermanis played more than 300 games – and kicked 421 goals – for the Brisbane Bears, Brisbane Lions and Western Bulldogs during his 15-year AFL career.
The Heritage Day at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy will feature games against Warwick (men) and Toowoomba Tigers (women).
The Saints will also be unveiling their new “old” heritage jersey, featuring the first ever strip worn by a South Burnett Aussie Rules team, back in 1981.
The team’s old Heritage jumpers will be auctioned off that night at the Carrollee Hotel as a fundraiser for the club.

South Burnett goals were kicked by Jarryd Hill (2), Adam Bowater (2), Sheldon Webber and Russell Thompson.
