A dispute between two people at the Kingaroy Mall on Wednesday afternoon prompted panicked posts on social media about a stabbing.
The incident occurred about 3:00pm.
A police spokesperson said a person was stabbed with a pen, or something similar, during the dispute, but suffered no significant injuries.
No complaint had been made to police.
A QAS spokesperson said paramedics assessed one person who suffered “a minor nick” but declined transport to hospital.
UPDATE May 20, 2026: Gregory Lee Clarke pleaded guilty in Kingaroy Magistrates Court to affray and was placed on a six-month good behaviour bond.
