Winners are grinners … Intoxicate celebrate their win after the Grand Final

April 9, 2019

Intoxicate kept their unbeaten record intact by taking out the Grand Final of the South Burnett Futsal competition in Kingaroy on Tuesday night.

But the players in black didn’t have the game all their own way … at half-time they were behind 3-2 to their younger opponents, KJ’s.

Intoxicate and KJ’s had been rivals all season so the Grand Final was always going to be hard-fought.

KJ’s continued to keep the ball moving quickly in the second half but several of their goal shots narrowly missed.

In comparison, Intoxicate seemed right on target, slotting home winners from the sideline.

The final score was Intoxicate 8, KJ’s 5.

Players aged 15 and over have been invited to take part.

Six teams took part in the first 18-week competition this year, and organisers are hopeful even more players will sign up for the second.

All games are played at the Maryknoll Centre.
