A teenage boy has suffered traumatic arm injuries after his arm was caught in farm machinery on a property west of Kilcoy on Saturday evening.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was sent to the scene at 7:45pm.

It’s believed the boy was using a cattle feeder on his family property when his right arm became caught in the machine.

Ambulance paramedics treated the boy at the scene for severe trauma to his right hand.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter met the ambulance at a nearby town where the aeromedical team stabilised him for flight and airlifted him to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

His mother accompanied him on the flight.
