The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail features in a new walking guide launched this week by the Toowoomba Regional Council.

The “Walks and Trails of Toowoomba Region” booklet highlights 50 nature treks.

Copies will be available at Heritage House in Yarraman as well as in visitor information centres.

Cr Joe Ramia said the TRC was keen to promote a healthy lifestyle.

He described the booklet as “like a GPS on paper” and said it included information for people with all levels of fitness.

“Outdoor adventurers will be spoilt for choice with the booklet outlining settings from urban circuits to bushland parks, mountain biking tracks and horse riding trails,” Cr Ramia said.

“Bushwalkers can explore the 160km Brisbane Valley Rail Trail which is one of the longest trails in Australia stretching from the hills of Yarraman through to Wulkuraka near Ipswich.”
