Two of the companies shortlisted to build the new $73.9 million Kingaroy Hospital are actively seeking expressions of interest from South Burnett sub-contractors and suppliers.
Hansen Yuncken and Hutchinson Builders have both advertised locally seeking pricing from sub-contractors and suppliers for the project.
In February, Health Minister Steven Miles said the State Government would ensure that local companies could contribute to the development.
“Preference will be given to local sub-contractors in the construction phase of the project, this means more local jobs and more opportunities for the South Burnett,” Mr Miles said.
Interested local businesses should contact:
- Craig Forrest at Hansen Yuncken on (07) 3872-4000 or bt@hansenyuncken.com.au by April 18; or
- Jessica Smith at Hutchinson Builders on (07) 3335-5005 or jessicasmith@hutchies.com.au by April 22.
The detailed design of the hospital is expected to be presented to the shortlisted tenderers for final pricing by the end of this month.

Excellent delivery for the region. And commitment for local jobs seems to be the focus from those shortlisted, more great news. Thanks Qld Labor.
Funny how quiet the Opposition are on this project!
Thanks Deb for all your hard work in pushing for and attaining a new hospital for the South Burnett.
With respect, Graham, perhaps you may be misinformed over this construction. It was investigated under Labor, stalled by the LNP, and then delivered by Labor. Note the initial sod turn was also under a Labor governance. Nothing was delivered in real terms until Qld removed the LNP and Labor funded this construction.
