Kingaroy Hospital … Minister has responded to petition
Health Minister Cameron Dick

March 21, 2016

Health Minister Cameron Dick has confirmed that a business case for a new Kingaroy Hospital is being developed as part of the planning process to prioritise Health Department projects across Queensland.

Responding to a petition sponsored by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington, Mr Dick re-confirmed that Kingaroy Hospital had been identified as a priority by the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service.

He said the Department of Health was now considering all projects identified as priorities by Hospital and Health Services across Queensland as part of the process to develop a five-year capital works plan.

However, there was no suggestion in the letter sent to petitioners that the Kingaroy Hospital had been included in this plan.

And Mr Dick noted that even if a project was included in the plan, there was no guarantee that it would be funded by the State Government.
