Two adults were taken to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries following a head-on smash on Youngman Street in Kingaroy on Tuesday night.

A QAS spokesperson said a 24-year-old man received glass in his eyes, while a 33-year-old woman suffered a suspected collarbone injury.

A four-year-old boy accompanied the woman to hospital but is not believed to have been injured.

The incident, involving a Toyota HiLux dual cab and a red Honda sedan, occurred about 7:00pm opposite Kingaroy Hospital, blocking the Bunya Highway for more than an hour.

The ute, which is believed to have been travelling into Kingaroy, ended up in a front yard after hitting a fence.

The sedan, which was extensively damaged, is believed to have been travelling out of town.

It ended up on the footpath further along the highway.

Police and fire crews diverted traffic via back streets around the incident.

An Ergon Energy crew was also called to the scene as a powerline was damaged.
