A man was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition after a single vehicle rollover on the Cooyar-Mt Binga Road on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 6:54am but the incident is believed to have occurred several hours earlier.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered suspected back, chest and abdominal injuries in the crash.

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said it was believed he had been trying to avoid hitting a kangaroo.

QAS paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was transferred to the RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter.
