The Toyota Kluger was badly damaged when it hit trees on the side of the Bunya Highway

A woman was transported to Kingaroy Hospital with suspected chest injuries after a collision involving three vehicles and a box trailer on the Bunya Highway on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred about 7:15am, just south of Wondai.

Police investigations into what caused the crash are continuing.

The three vehicles – a Hyundai, a Toyota Kluger and a Ford Courier – ended up spread some distance apart on the highway.

The Kluger ran off the road and was badly damaged when it hit trees.

The box trailer was also destroyed.

The drivers were a 67-year-old woman, a 27-year-old woman and a 45-year-old woman.

A QAS spokesperson said the other patients assessed at the scene declined transport to hospital.

The Kluger lost a wheel as well as sustaining front and side panel damage
