The Nanango Race Club will be holding Lee Park’s first race meeting of the year this Saturday, February 16.

Although Valentine’s Day fell on Thursday, the race club will be marking the day with a “Pink, Pink and More Pink” fashion theme.

The weather should also be kind, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a partly cloudy day with a maximum temperature of 29 degrees.

Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best pink outfits, hats and ties and upload a selfie to the race club’s Facebook page to be in the running for some great Fashions Of The Field prizes.

Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff will be one of the judges, and fashionistas are welcome to try to out-pink her.

The club’s popular Champagne@the Bit Bar will be serving up bubbly and platters and there’ll be a licensed bar and barbecue running on site along with face-painting for children, bookies and an on-course tote.

Buses will be running from Kingaroy’s Glendon Street Bus Depot at noon, and the rear of Nanango’s Fitzroy Hotel at about 12:20pm.

Gates will open at the track at noon and the first race of the day’s five race card will leave the barriers at 1:35pm.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners (under-15s are free).
