Random patrols by police in the Hivesville and Proston areas over the past four days have nabbed a number of drivers flouting the law.

Police from the Kingaroy Road Policing Unit detected:

  • A Proston man travelling at 96km/h in a 60km/h zone through town on the Wondai-Proston Road. He was fined $609 and lost six demerit points;
  • Three separate Learner drivers were intercepted driving while not being supervised by an Open licence holder and while not displaying L plates. All three were fined at least $416 and will lose their learner’s permits;
  • A 22-year-old Proston man was intercepted on Drake Street, Proston. Police will allege he was unlicenced and driving an unregistered car. He was issued with a Notice to Appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on March 19 and his vehicle was immobilised for 90 days; and
  • A number of other people were fined for not wearing seatbelts, having insecure loads or driving unregistered vehicles.
