Amanda Reinbott … auditions are beginning soon for The Sound Of Music

January 24, 2019

South Burnett Musical Comedy Society is gearing up for its next major production, “The Sound Of Music”, and organisers are keen to hear from would-be singers young and old.

Information sessions will be held on Sunday, February 10 (at 2:00pm), and Monday, February 11 (at 7:00pm), at the Kingaroy State High School Assembly Hall.

These will be followed by auditions which will be held on February 16-17 and February 23-24.

Spokesperson Amanda Reinbott said the SBMCS was hoping to get about 60 people involved in the production.

The aim was to provide as many opportunities as possible, with shared roles for the adult leads and two casts for the seven main children’s roles.

As well, there were roles for groups of nuns and townspeople.

The Sound Of Music will be hitting the stage in Kingaroy on July 26-27-28 and August 2-3-4, and then will head off to The Empire Theatre in Toowoomba for a performance on August 10.

This will be the second time the SBMCS has been booked to appear at The Empire Theatre, after debuting with their performance of Beauty and The Beast last year.
