A man aged in his 60s was airlifted to Brisbane in a critical condition after a machinery rollover in the Proston area on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred near Okeden Road (Boondooma Dam Road) in the vicinity of Elizabeth Place.

Emergency crews were called to the incident about 6:00pm.

Ambulance paramedics treated the man –  who had suffered head and chest injuries – at the scene before transporting him to Proston Showgrounds.

The QGAir Rescue 500 helicopter then airlifted him in a stable condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
