Bunnings’ new store is rapidly taking shape in Kingaroy in Kingaroy

December 15, 2018

Hardware retailer Bunnings has invested more than $1.9 million to prepare the site for their new store near Rogers Drive in Kingaroy.

Council planning staff issued three separate approvals for operational works on the site, Property portfolio chair Cr Terry Fleischfresser told December’s South Burnett Regional Council meeting.

They were:

  • A $920,000 application for bulk earthworks to shape the site and form a building pad,
  • A $1,030,000 application for car park construction and stormwater drainage, and
  • A $37,000 application for a water connection and a minor sewer extension

Cr Fleischfresser said a local engineering firm had been hired to inspect and certify the three approvals.

A local plumbing contractor had also been engaged to carry out all the internal plumbing and drainage work for the building.

Council staff have started inspecting drainage work on the site.
