A Blackbutt man is being treated for stab wounds – and a 30-year-old man is being questioned by police – following an incident in Blackbutt on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to a residence in Hart Street just before 3:30pm.

Paramedics and police attended the scene and found a man aged in his mid-20s suffering wounds to his torso, leg and under his arm.

He had allegedly been stabbed with a knife.

Ambulance officers treated the man at the scene, before taking him to Blackbutt Showground for transport by the RACQ LifeFlight helicopter.

A critical care doctor and a QAS paramedic were on board the helicopter.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said the man was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The helicopter touched down at the hospital just before 6:00pm.

Police have taken a Blackbutt man into custody and he is assisting with inquiries.
