The Nanango Race Club will be holding its annual Christmas Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway on Sunday, December 2.

This is the last South Burnett race meeting for the year, and it’s a popular way for racegoers to kick off their Festive Season celebrations.

It’s also the third ever Sunday meeting for the race club, to avoid conflicting with other Saturday meetings.

The meeting’s theme is “Christmas Red & Green with a touch of Gold/ Silver” and guests are encouraged to dress up in their best festive outfits to be in the running for some great Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field prizes.

Several groups will be holding Christmas get-togethers in the grounds, there’ll be face painting for children and Santa Claus will be putting in an appearance to spread some Yuletide joy, too.

The club’s popular Pink Champagne Bar will be running all day serving up bubbly and platters, and a licensed bar and barbecue, canteen, bookies and an on-course tote will all be operating.

Buses will be running from Kingaroy’s Kingaroy’s Glendon Street Bus Depot at noon, and the rear of the Fitzroy Hotel at 12:25pm.

Gates will open at the track at 10:00am and the first race will leave the barriers at 1:20pm.

After the last race of the day, there’ll also be an extra race for Arabian horses – and while punters can’t bet on it, it’s always a fun race to watch.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners (under-15s are free).
