JK International has taken over the Wondai seed operations formerly operated by the Blue Ribbon Group.

The facility has been in limbo since Blue Ribbon went into liquidation in late 2017 on an application by Bean Growers Australia.

At the time it was alleged Blue Ribbon owed creditors a total of about $11.6 million.

Blue Ribbon acquired the Wondai plant – including a seed storage area and seed grading plant – from HSR Seeds in 2013.

It bought the Pedigreed Seed merchandising business at the same time.

JK International began as a family business in Brisbane but now has offices in eight countries.

It has also purchased the Champion Seeds plant at Millmerran.
