Firefighters cut a firebreak in a bid to protect property from a large fire burning at Durong on Saturday afternoon.

The blaze, near Ironbark Road, was reported about 12:30pm.

At 4:20pm,  there were 10 fire crews on the scene.

A QFES spokesperson said the fire had burned out an area of about 80 acres and was posing a potential threat to a nearby property.

To combat this, crews were cutting a firebreak on the northern side of the property using a bulldozer.

Any residents concerned their property is under threat should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

At 3:00pm, three fire crews responded to a grass fire burning near Haly Creek Road at Goodger.

Smoke from the fire was also drifting across Kingaroy-Cooyar Road.
