A 39-year-old Wondai man will face multiple charges following a single-vehicle traffic crash on the Bunya Highway near Crawford in the early hours of Sunday.

Police were called to the incident at 12:10am.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said it appeared the driver fell asleep before his Ford sedan left the road and crashed.

A police search of the vehicle allegedly located non-prescribed medication, a knife and a laser pointer.

The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 8 charged with unlicensed driving, failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle, possessing a restricted drug, possessing a restricted item and possession of a knife.

Police attended a two-vehicle  traffic crash at the intersection of Industrial Avenue and Kingaroy-Cooyar Road in Kingaroy on Friday evening.

Police allege a Toyota ute driven by a 45-year-old Buderim man failed to give way at a give way sign on Industrial Avenue.

His vehicle struck a Mazda sedan being driven by a 40-year-old Taabinga woman.

The man was issued with an infringement notice for failing to give way.

No one was injured in the collision.
