UPDATE September 18:

Fire crews were called back to Greenwood Creek Road on Tuesday morning.

The fire is burning within containment lines and is being monitored by rural fire units.

Multiple fire crews were called just before midnight on Sunday to a large grass fire burning near Greenwood Creek Road at East Nanango.

Urban and rural firefighters attended the blaze, which was burning in mostly inaccessible country.

Earthmoving equipment was brought in to assist.

A QFES spokesperson said that by midnight the fire was 85 per cent contained.

Fire crews left the scene soon afterwards.

They returned at 7:30am on Monday to monitor the area, extinguish some smouldering logs and continue to blacken out areas.

At 10:30am, the fire was burning safely within containment lines.

At 4:30pm on Monday, fire crews were called to a grass fire burning near the Bunya Highway at Taabinga, just south of Kingaroy.

Two fire crews responded to the incident.
