and rugs the crafts group made to help local foster children

On Monday, the Cooinda Embroidery and Craft Group donated 32 quilts and knitted / crocheted rugs to a representative of South Burnett Foster Care.

The items were lovingly made by the group with the aid of a $500 community grant from the South Burnett Regional Council, which helped to pay for the cost of the materials.

Club co-ordinator Rhona Merton thanked Cr Terry Fleischfresser, who was representing Council, at the handover.

The Cooinda Craft Group meets on Monday mornings at the Town Common Hall in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy, and new members are always welcome.

There are currently 31 members in the group.
