Sonie Crumpton … regional finalist in the 2018 Syngenta Growth Awards

September 6, 2018

South Burnett businessman Sonie Crumpton has been named as a national finalist in Syngenta Australia’s prestigious annual Growth Awards.

The awards recognise productivity, sustainability and community involvement in the agriculture sector by growers and advisers.

Every year, Syngenta territory sales managers nominate a total of 65 people from across Australia and New Zealand for consideration.

From these, 25 are selected to go to Sydney for further judging by an independent panel of industry representatives and stakeholders.

Syngenta Wide Bay Burnett / Northern Territory sales manager Neil Bauer said Sonie had been nominated because of what G Crumpton & Sons had achieved, including plant breeding and seed production as well as water management and resistance management on farm.

“It is really outstanding how far they have come … the whole operation, from where they started to where they are now,” Neil said.

Sonie and the 24 other regional winners from across Australia have now been invited to attend the Growth Awards dinner which will be held at Pier One in Sydney on December 5.

The independent panel of judges will then select the final 10 winners who will have the opportunity to participate in a Syngenta overseas study tour.
