South Burnett Saints scored an easy win over the Dalby Swans in their Round 15 game of the Darling Downs AFL competition played at Dalby on Saturday.

The final score was 25.9 (159) to 3.6 (24).

South Burnett goals were kicked by Joseph Amery (9), Adam Bowater (6), Troy Miller (5), Brad Pressnell (2), Scott Ingram, Jordan Pressnell and Ben Pressnell.

The win leaves the Saints at fifth spot on the ladder, level-pegging with Warwick on 36 points but behind them on for and against.

This weekend’s home game by the Saints against the eighth-placed Highfield Lions is the last round of fixtures for the season, and the last opportunity to break clear of Warwick on the ladder and earn a spot in the Premiership finals series.

Warwick are facing a much harder task, taking on second placegetters Toowoomba Bombers at home in Toowoomba.

The top four teams will play a three-week final series for the Allied Pickford’s Premiership Cup and Tom Wills perpetual trophy.

The Grand Final will be at Rockville Park in Toowoomba on Saturday, September 8.

The teams that finish in 5th to 8th spot will play off for the Adrian Jericho perpetual shield.
