The Centre For Supervised Distance Education in Kingaroy is one step closer to improving facilities for students and carers after a generous donation from the Kingaroy Lions Club on Friday.

Lions past president Norm Jackson presented CSDE Director Laurel Cohen with a cheque for $1000, part of fundraising over the past 12 months by the club.

The CSDE is a special facility in Kingaroy for Distance Education students who qualify for medical enrolment to receive Distance Education lessons.

Laurel said the centre had two projects which it was hoping to complete soon: a much-needed bathroom renovation and the installation of a ramp at the main door in First Avenue.

“Some of the students and their carers have mobility issues,” Laurel said.
