A car driver was trapped for about 90 minutes on Thursday afternoon after his vehicle and a truck collided on the Burnett Highway at Booubyjan.

The truck is believed to have been carrying a transformer.

Emergency crews were called to the incident about 12:35pm.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to free the male driver, who was then flown by the QGAir Rescue 500 helicopter to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious but stable condition with injuries to his upper and lower body.

Five QFES crews attended the scene.

The driver was extricated from the wrecked vehicle at 2:05pm.

No further information is available.

One Response to "Truck, Car Collide On Highway"

  1. This accident involved my husband. Thank you does not seem enough for all concerned in saving my husband’s life. To the truck drivers involved, the police from Goomeri who were among the first to arrive, the fire services, the ambulance and, of course, the rescue helicopter, words cannot convey our heartfelt thanks for helping to save my husband’s life.

A special thank you also to the two officers that came to our house to relay the news, who also called the Brisbane Hospital for an update and organised a social worker to meet us at the Emergency Department. He has a long road to recovery, but recover he will.

    Once again, thank you.
