The two-month Queensland Winter Craft Festival is now officially under way at Kingaroy Art Gallery following its launch by South Burnett Keith Campbell on Saturday morning.

Mayor Campbell praised the inspiration and creativity behind many of the pieces on display, which he described as “hugely professional”.

Jenny Gemmell, the president of the volunteer Kingaroy Arts Team which runs the gallery on behalf of council, said the festival would not have been possible without the help of her team of Julia (Jeffery), Fran (van Vegchel) and Fay (Stumm).

For the next two months, visitors to the gallery will be able to take part in craft workshops, watch demonstrations, browse displays and enjoy “make and take” activities.

Booklets detailing the activities on offer are available at the gallery, or visit the Kingaroy Art Gallery website
