The State Government has re-confirmed $2.6 million funding for the next five years for services to combat domestic violence in the South Burnett.

Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence Di Farmer said the renewal of funding to South Burnett CTC would deliver certainty to some of the region’s most vulnerable community members.

“This investment will see the continued funding of the High Risk Team which is already doing great work on the ground in Cherbourg as part of a multi-agency response to combat domestic and family violence in Cherbourg,” Ms Farmer said.

She said the funding would also enable CTC to continue its Woondin-dee service which provides support to women, children and men who have, or are, experiencing domestic and family violence.

CTC will also continue to work with perpetrators to change behaviours and break the circle of violence.
