South Burnett Saints overwhelmed the Dalby Swans at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday

South Burnett Saints’ men blew Dalby off the paddock in their Round 3 Darling Downs AFL match in Kingaroy on Saturday afternoon.

The home team started strongly and were leading by 34 points at the first change.

By half-time, the Saints had hit the ton, stretching the lead to 15.10 (100) to 2.2 (14).

The final score was 18.12 (120) to 3.2 (20).

Unfortunately, the game was called off in the third quarter after a Dalby player was injured.

South Burnett goals were kicked by Joseph Amery (4), Nathan Trace (4), Adam Bowater (3), Ben Pressnell (3), Troy Miller (2), Mitchell Francis and Kerron Weber.

The Saints’ next game will be against Toowoomba Tigers in Toowoomba on Saturday, May 19.

South Burnett Saints’ women had another tough game on Saturday, being kept scoreless by the Toowoomba Tigers.

The local team had a strong second quarter in defence, limiting the Tigers to just three goals, but the visitors romped away in the second half to record a 19.11 (125) win.
