900 were yarded for the fortnightly sale in Murgon on Tuesday, March 27.

The market was slightly easier for all descriptions with the exception of feeder steers and better quality weaner steers, which remained fairly firm.

Cattle were consigned from Gayndah, Mt Perry, Yarraman, Nanango, Kingaroy and the Murgon district.

Sale results:

  • Heavy Bulls sold to $2.49/kg and $2150.00
  • Cows over 500kg topped at $2.26/kg
  • Cows 400–500 kg topped at $2.08/kg
  • Cows under 400kg sold to $2.00/kg
  • A draft of excellent quality Simental and Angus cross steers from the Nielsen brothers of Cloyna sold an average of $2.97/kg for 400 kilograms. The line topped at $3.02/kg and $1350.00
  • 328kg Charolais cross steers from Manyung sold for $3.00/kg to return $985
  • Charolais cross weaner steers from S & T Holding of Cloyna sold for $950
  • Santa weaner steers from R & A Bambling of Kingaroy sold for $990 and $3.49/kg
  • Local Charbray weaner steers weighing 203kg sold for $670 at $3.30/kg
  • Braford weaner steers from the Davies family of Yarraman sold for $880 at $3.29/kg
  • 355kg Santa Heifers sold to $2.79/kg to return $990
  • Droughtmaster cross weaner heifers from G & S Tate sold for $583 and $2.80/kg
  • 253kg Angus weaner heifers from S. Wright of Yarraman sold for $698 and $2.76/kg
  • Angus weaner heifers from Yarrandoo Holdings of Yarraman sold for $704 at $2.74/kg
  • Aged Charbray Cows & calves sold to $1400

The next Murgon sale is on Tuesday, April 10 at 8:00am.
